Those verses show what the hebrews had to go thru. Once being white not having to work and they were so white from lack of sun exposure but when the famine hit them and now they had to go out into the sun and work, being exposed to the sunlight, etc... I personally think that that this passage was about their character and how they were perceived, their image. How their image is now TARNISHED... Not about color or what the sun did to them or what color they were to begin with. |

kat, they are parallel meanings. Just as a person's character or image can be tarnished, a person's skin colour can be tarnished also. The verse speaks to us three-fold, mental, physical and spiritual. I personally think that that this passage was about their character and how they were perceived, their image. and one more thing... most saphires are blue!!! Dark blue but they can also be white saphires too like diamonds all sparkley n things! Rubies are pink to red.. Dazzling to the eye.

This was MIRIAM, keep in mind Miriam was a Yisraalite, and Yisraalites descend from SHEM not CHAM yet when a SHEMITE gets genetically changed by the creator YAHWEH the SHEMITE turns WHITE! so a SHEMITE IS ORIGINALLY ..... NOT WHITE but has the same skin color as CHAMITES, AND JAPHETITES..NAMLY COAL BLACK SKIN.

12 And if a leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that hath the plague from his head even to his foot, wheresoever the priest looketh;
13 Then the priest shall consider: and, behold, if the leprosy have covered all his flesh, he shall pronounce him clean that hath the plague: it is all turned white
