Peace! Fo'sho! GTO! There is a definite difference between rap and hip hop! I am 35 years old, I am HIP HOP! Rap is created by those white boys that are spoken of! I was there too when Sylvia Robinson took a piece of Hip Hop culture and exploited it! Peace and Love! Denham-El Don't Blame HIPHOP for the Ill state of the BLACK and LATINO COMMUNITY. Blame J EDGAR HOOVER and the Counter Intelegence Program ( CoIntelPro ) Like the Sisiter said earlier. All those white boys just Pimping our Kulture. But The "TRUE HEADS" Know whats up. Turn off your radio. "In our time, Hip Hop summits and conferences of all sorts occur frequently. But after the challenges facing our Hiphop community are brought up and discussed at these summits and conferences, most Hiphoppas still continue to act in ways counter-productive to Hiphop’s development and still continue to participate in the same entertainment industry they say is …ripping them off! Peace! Yeah Bro. GTO straaaaight exploitation! Those cats Sugarhill gang was not even M.C.'s they were college students and did for a joke! And the shyaat blew! But then you had the real M.C.s Flash& Furious Five, Sequence the label was truly a "double edged sword" I agree 100%! The real M.C.'s from the label did not get the air time until liker 1979 or 1980. Do not forget the song "King Tim the Third" by the Fatback Band that was also "a rhyme"! Hip Hop is the "saviour " of the world , which has united all types of cultures world wide! Peace! Denham-El I like the fact you said Sylvia Exploited it : Sugar Hill Records was a Double Edged Sword.
