The controversial high protein, high fat Atkins diet could reduce a woman's chances of becoming pregnant. Scientists have discovered that a diet containing at least 25 per cent protein disrupts the healthy development of embryos and makes it harder for them to attach themselves to the womb. We already know that he high fat content of the diet can cause heart problems.
The available data certainly indicate that a high protein diet is not advisable while trying to conceive. We at Holistic Wisdom are against diets like the Atkins diet as we feel it is unhealthy thus we feel that it is a "population" control diet as it causes life threatening health risks and prevents births.

Atkins diet especially the version that is called induction is a quick fix and not designed to be permanent. His book has a more balanced and moderate approach. No imbalanced diet high in proteins, fats or any imbalance is good. But as far as the embryo reduction hmmmmmmm, I'm going to get me some fish and letttuce and see if I can chill on the fruits.... an its on now . Shoot I can look good enough to make a brother wanna have a baby and reduce the chances lol I'm down!!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i strictly drink diet pepsi to keep my weight down. Its ez for me to lose weight this way. Then again its ez for me to gain. If mr. Atkins has a diet he can market, maybe i can do the same too!. And my weight lost regimen is a sure guarantee. With my diet plan I can lose up to 8 lbs in a week! thats right, I kid you not. Here is how I do it. DO NOT EAT BREAKFAST. For lunch only have a juice or some fluid to keep your energy leveled for the remainder of the day. You can pig out at dinner. Its really power fast [fasting].
Guaranteed! sure winner! Call it the kAH's diet

This fitness trainer at GNC told us to take your daily calorie intake, usually 2000 and divide it into 5 meals. When you wait until you're hungry, your body goes into storage mode. It senses your hunger and holds onto any fight you are trying to burn, thus the yo yo effect from dieting. It has worked wonders for us, I have lost a total of 12 lbs, doing that and combining work outs--Derrick has lost 7. He only wants to lose a few more, I on the other hand have more than enough to lose For an example: We eat alot of salads---a very full salad with grilled chicken is usually only around 250 calories, and you can get good and stuffed from it. The bun is the worst thing on the burger. We do low carb, but no no carb. You need carbs for energy, but you have to train or re-train your body to convert it over to energy. If you don't use the carbs by way of working out--your body will conver the carbs over to sugar, then over to fat. That fat will usually show up as high triglycerides. I am very proud to say that 2 years ago, my total cholestorol was 223. As of last week, it was 140. Anything under 200 is acceptable for my age, and 140 is awesome! A popular belief is that overweight people automatically have high cholesterol and that normal or underweight people don't. That is far from the truth. My sister-in-law, is shamefully 420lb! However, her cholesterol is normal. My mother on the other hand is 125lb and her cholesterol is over 240! Why? Alchohol, smoking, and age. Women over 50 are at an increased risk due to estrogen changes. She had a heart attack 2 years ago. When you see her, she looks the pillar of health, and she thought she was. Menopause is the main culprit in women over 50 having heart attacks--the smoking and drinking (she isn't a lush, but drinks beer on the weekends) just added to it. She's very active, and watches what she eats, but that wasn't enough. Dieting simply to lose weight will only be met with disappointment. You should have a change of lifestlye, diet for health as opposed for physical looks.
