i recently did brief (and i do mean brief) research trying to find out what double predestination was.. basically what i found was that calvinist believe this and that basically it means God chose who he would save and who would go to hell (in the very beginning) and that not just anyone can claim Jesus as Lord and Savior and be saved.. what are your thoughts...

That is an inaccurate assessment of scripture and is not supported by scripture. I mean that entire argument is nullified by just one verse (among many others)
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.....
In order to make this doctrine you speak of correct it should have been written this way
For God so loved only those whom he preselected before time recorded that he gave his only begotten son...,
then again, if they were already preselected, then they wouldn't need a savior now would they?

that makes sense to me.. d.p. just didnt make sense to me-based on scripture.. all this about accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.. how would be accept somethign if there isnt a choice.. what's the opposite of accepting.. denying.. once more- a choice between two things.. by the way the person that posting the double predestination stuff said that he was a bible LITERALIST- go figure That is an inaccurate assessment of scripture and is not supported by scripture.
