leader's request for new trial
The Associated Press/August 17, 2004
Macon, Ga. -- A federal judge has denied a request for a new trial by the leader of a quasi-religious sect convicted of child molestation and racketeering.
Malachi York, head of the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors, has been serving a 135-year sentence since his January conviction on charges he regularly molested children and manipulated the sect's finances from 1998 to 2000, when federal agents raided their Putnam County compound.
U.S. District Court Judge Ashley Royal held a hearing Friday on York's request, after a key government witness said she lied during the trial and that she was not molested by York.
But during the hearing, 28-year-old Habiybah Washington ultimately stood by her testimony, saying she only tried to recant because she felt sorry for York.
The judge issued his decision Monday.
York, 58, still awaits sentencing in Putnam County Superior Court, after he pleaded guilty in January 2003 to 77 counts of child molestation, aggravated child molestation and exploitation of children.

I flipped to 2 Corinthians last night, and was reading about the King Uzziah (sp?). He became so powerful that he felt he could go and burn incense like the priests.. what happened to him? He died of leprocy.. He was not "consecrated" to do such a thing.. therefore God punished him with disease. He was cut off from the House of the Lord.. seems like the same has happened to York.. he has been trying call himself the messiah.. something only determined by our Heavenly Father.. York claiming he writes names in the Book of Life. what a joke..now look at him.. ate up with disease and sitting his behind in jail.. probably for the rest of his life..at least in my opinion.

The universe is mental...So true that the Nuwaubian hierarchy was plagued with disease. Mr. York suffers from angiodema and Ms Johnson multiple sclerosis. In Ancient Egypt diseases were known as the "real devil" due to the degradation these plagues have on mental acuity. Years ago a rap group known as the "Supreme Team" led by "See-Divine" (The Mastermind) and "Just Allah" (The Superstar) can be stoically penned to this incarcerated duo... salutations, Courtney..... we got so many more debunk-shuns. Another great analogy of the "Dynamic Duo"!!! Imagine Kathy came to me while I was 7 mos. pregnant with my 5yr. old, to tell me that if I did not abort the child -after being finally "allowed" to go to the doctor for the first time, I found out the baby would have Down Syndrome. She told if not, then, they will be sending me back to Panama, because it could not be known that he York, could have a "defective" child, a "god" does not have any defects, that it would go against his "image"!!! Although the Dr. said it would be against the law to have an abortion, on another occasion she came to show me a picture of another of his children that was born "defected" who is in the hospital -a ward of the state, and asked me, "do you want your baby to look like this? plopping the picture infront of me.
