Nuwaubians deny charges
By RUSS BYNUM
BRUNSWICK (AP) — Five young women that cult leader Malachi York is charged with molesting as children told a federal jury Friday that York never touched them sexually. Three of the five women testified that federal agents tried to pressure them into saying York molested them after the FBI raided the Georgia compound of the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors in May 2002. ‘‘It seemed like they were trying to get me to say something that didn’t happen,’’ said a 21-year-old woman, whom York is charged with molesting during a 1996 trip to Disney World. ‘‘And it was like (the agent) got mad because I wasn’t saying what she wanted.’’ York, 58, is being tried in U.S. District Court on 13 counts of child molestation and racketeering. Prosecutors have had 13 witnesses testify that York molested them. Many of York’s accusers say the cult leader would have sex with two or more children at a time, and named several of them – including the five witnesses who denied being molested Friday. ‘‘I have never been sexually molested by Dr. York,’’ said one woman, 18, who prosecutors say York had sex with at age 14 with other children present. ‘‘No, I have never seen the defendant molest any children.’’ Another 18-year-old woman who denied York molested her also had a medical examination, during which she told a nurse she was sexually active with her boyfriend. The woman told jurors her then-boyfriend’s name was Tony, and she had dated him about four years. But when Moultry asked his last name she replied, ‘‘I don’t know. I never knew his last name.’’ Several of the women described their shock during the 2002 raid by FBI agents serving a search warrant at the Nuwaubian compound. They recalled agents’ cars roaring onto the land, glass breaking, tear gas being fired and swarms of agents pointing guns to get cult members on their knees. ‘‘To this day, I still have nightmares about it,’’ said one of the 18-year-old women. ‘‘It scarred on me. It scarred on my soul.’’ She said agents pressed her the next day to say York molested her. ‘‘They basically told us he had molested us,’’ said the woman. When she denied it ‘‘they said, ‘No, he did molest you and you’re just saying that because he threatened to kill you.’’

I just recieved this from a brother Hotep Hau ... The Real Deal From A Reliable Source ... Here is some more info/outformation about the case against Maku ... As the focus of attention is on the Michael Jackson Molestation case, and news coverage at the parties and public gatherings, continue to be the top news of the day ... They purposfully do not tell about the fact that even thou only two days spent by witnesses for the accused, Maku, each day has been very victorius for his side, to the point that Judge Royale began asking Maku's Lawyer, Adrian Pattrick, how many more witnesses did he intend to bring forward because this trial was taking too long, even thou last week, it was this judge, who said that this trial would take from 3 to 4 weeks ... Of course Maku's attorney told the Judge that the prosecuting attornies had one week and one half to bring forth their witnesses and that He will not be stopped from bringing forth his witnesses to prove his case ... This Judge is so bias, that he openly points out to the prosecuting attornies, that he should call this witness in a certain order as opposed to that, and what angle he should make his approach ... This was done again recently, but this time, Maku's attorney, called the Judge out by making it public record, that this Judge, Royale should remove himself from the seat because of his enablity to be nutruel ... So, far, there has been no success on the part of the prosecutors to prove any of the accuations made, and each day counts as a success for Maku, to the point that this judge asked his Attorney, who did he intend to bring to the witness stand next and what would they be talking about, at which time, Attorney Pattrick told the Judge that he will not tell the feds what his strategy of defense is ahead of time ... These people do not play fair and are stiving to win this case at any cost ... Each group that has been called for the defense of Maku, from the Oldtimers, who established the purpose of the community, and that it was not for the purpose of molesting children, on down to the parents of some of these children, who made these false accusations, stating these factas to be true, and that Maku, has never molested any children in the community at anytime, what so ever, along with the testimony of well established members at large proclaiming Maku's innocence ... The best defeat suffered by the Prosecuters was thrown when the FBI medical examiner, refused to take the stand to be cross examined by Maku's attorney, and held the court proceedings up for 3 hours, while the Judge and Prosecuters grappled with trying to find a way to prevent her from taking the stand, but could not find away around it ... The Victory of hearing her read from her own report that she found no evidence of any sexual abuse of the children at the time of her examination ... Mind you, that this examination took place after the kidnapping ...

This is taken from the unnm message board Admin:
I wonder if the prosecution was surprised at the other alleged victims denying anything happening. Ofcourse NOT. They arent surprised becuase they already knew about Isa and the rest of them. Why? Becuase they denied it from the beginning. Also they are listed as alleged victims BUT the prosecution didn't call them to the stand in their case. So ofcourse they KNEW. Some of them did NOT even receive a Subpeona. As far as the letter, notice that it says the boy was called in. This is not in court - The case worker of the boy forced him to see Multrie. Its obvious to us that whoever you are signed on as guest that you are bias toward the prosecution who has no interest in the so-called children in this case. You dont comment on the torture and aggrivation the children went through during the raid which a few of the allleged victims described very vividly. People show no concern for the children that were snatched off the land and taken to a house in milledgeville where dead bodies are prepared. No concern for the tear gas used on kids at the land and the 300 agents and law enforcement there. Also the truck full of body bags etc. They dont care about the children and obviously you dont either. Its a concpiracy by a small group of people who are all related and very bitter. Making comments after testifying like "we got him now"....its easy to hide behind anonomous names online becuase you dont have to responsible for what you say. People make comments on the case and have no clue to whats going on and then have the nerve to quote the newspapers - plahheeeeze!!!!

Since you had to quote another nuwaubian about what was happening at the trial in the very state that you live, is obvious that you are NOT THERE in person if only to get first hand of what very few ARE fortunate enough to see! Yet, those that do go the 12 or so, say on papaer what they want the Nuwaubians to say. It's ok. Peace

"Yet, those that do go the 12 or so, say on papaer what they want the Nuwaubians to say."
Should read, Yet those that do go, the 12 or so, say on paper, what they want the Nuwaubain that are not there to "HEAR".
They say that the "devil's" media, gives inaccurate reportS, but they however, have the "truth".
It IS obvious to ALL that the nuwaubians "TWEAK THE TRUTH, OR JUST OUTRIGHT LIE!
I am NOT hidding, you all know my name, where I'm at etc.
I STAND FOR WHAT I SAY!

If this video the prosecution says it has is legit, it can be used to press perjury and possibly other charges against those testifying. Perhaps they will give them a chance to "re think" their testimony.

Are the eskimos not considered kin to the native american? You stated that you are 1/4 Washita, was this known before you became a follower of York?

I am asking you. Are the eskimos not considered kin to the native american? You stated that you are 1/4 Washita, was this known before you became a follower of York? I was informed of my link to the washitaw before joining the Ansaaru Allah Community in the West, but I ignored it because is wasn't Islaamic. My mother gave me a book intitled: "Return of the Ancient Ones" in 1991 or 1992 but I didn't care, because I was(and still is) a Ansaar. My great grand mother use to sit me on her lap and tell me stories of our past. We are presently fighting to reclaim our land in St. Martinville. The Pale-Face has a split tongue, he knows that the eskimo has mixed in as well, bu the chineese mixed in before and migrated south and east and founded Amaxum(Mexico). This can be found in our sacred records

Lets get back to the topic>>>>>>>
Posted on Mon, Jan. 19, 2004 Nuwaubian leader earned fat income while followers worked for free, testimony shows RUSS BYNUM Associated Press
BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Cult leader Malachi York's earned more than $850,000 from 1996 to 2001 while hundreds of his followers worked for free on York's Egyptian-styled compound in rural Georgia.
York's accountant showed copies of federal tax returns filed by the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors leader in U.S. District Court on Monday as York's child molestation and racketeering trial entered its third week.
York's returns were shown to the jury as part of his defense to show York, 58, had been paying federal income taxes. In addition to molesting children, prosecutors say, York illegally tried to conceal his finances by evading reporting requirements for large bank deposits.
Tax returns from 1996 to 2001 showed York grossed $5.9 million from his quasi-religious ministries, book stores and three rental properties in Atlanta, Macon, and in Philadelphia.
After expenses, York reported a net taxable income of $857,236 during the six-year period and paid $303,746 in federal income tax. York never claimed tax exemptions for religious or nonprofit purposes.
"We considered everything (to be) for-profit and the client paid taxes on his profit every year," Neil Dukoff, York's accountant, testified after showing the returns to the jury.
Meanwhile, York's followers who lived on the 400-acre Nuwaubian compound in Putnam County worked for the cult leader for free.
Several Nuwaubian members testified previously they worked as carpenters and security guards on the compound or in an office set aside to publish York's religious books and other writings. Children have testified they would sometimes work 12-hour days packing soap and incense sold by the Nuwaubians.
Nuwaubian members said they never asked for payment and York provided them with food, clothing and homes in exchange for their work. York reported paying no wages on his tax returns.
York faces 13 federal counts of child molestation and racketeering. Prosecutors have had 13 witnesses testify that York molested them, while five alleged victims have testified the assaults never happened.
On Monday, the mother of one of York's alleged victims told the jury her teenage daughter lied when she said York had sex with her.
The girl left the Nuwaubian compound in 2001 when she was 15. Her mother stayed and still lives there. The mother said her daughter and others who testified against York "are conspirators and they're after money."
"The day that she left, she went down to say goodbye to Malachi York," the mother said. The daughter said York had "wished her well and told her to be safe," the woman said. "If he was a molester, she wouldn't have gone down there to say goodbye."
Muhammad Vasser, 17, told jurors another of York's accusers, a teenage boy, told him at a party last year the cult leader never molested him.
"We just asked him, `We heard you're speaking against Malachi York,'" said Vasser, who came to the Nuwaubian compound in 1993. "And he said, `No, no, it wasn't me. My mother pressured me to do it."
An Atlanta gynecologist also testified as an expert in York's defense, saying medical examinations conducted in 2002 on several alleged victims were insufficient to determine they had been molested.
The expert, Dr. Frederick Bright, also acknowledged he lived on the Nuwaubian compound from 1997 to 1999 and still considers York his "teacher."
"I am giving objective opinions completely," Bright said when prosecutors questioned him about his loyalty to York.
Assistant prosecutor Stephanie Thacker showed jurors a copy of Bright's application to join York's group. In it he wrote: "I have tremendous respect and love for the Master Teacher of our Day and Time."
Bright said "Master Teacher" was a reference to York.
