For those who live in the Chicago area there will be a MOORISH AMERICAN DAY Aug. 14th at 8700 S. Marquette. U can call (773) 858-8407 for details. Open to the public since it was advertised in the local newspaper. It'll be my first.

No problem bro. Chicago has plenty of cultural events throughout the summer. The problem is sumtimez there will be 2 of them the same day. Forces me to pick one over the other. MOORISH AMERICAN DAY falls on the same day as the BUD BILLIKEN parade.  Its cool . Already made my choice though. |

The Moors will be in the parade and have a picnic in the park (Washington Pk.). Therefore, it's basically the same thing.

It was a bust yall. THey marched as part of THE BUD BILLIKEN PARADE but I missed it. I got there around 3 sumthin'. I did call the day before and they gave me a spot they would be cookin' out on. I couldnt find them though. Oh well. I did stop by THE NEW BLACK PANTHER PARTY booth for awhile. That was cool.  |
