I am one of those bruthas that view Hebrew-Israelitism as both a community (cultural) AND (for lack of a better word) religion. In other words, my spirituality is caught up in how I live and walk this thing out..(Stay on the Path Marked out by TNK).
My question is, why then do we allow our own 'traditions' versus the TNK itself speak and guide our daily living and interactions? I am looking around the ATL metro for a congregation that is TNK-only based, (no disrespect to the Messianic brethren, you ARE culturally and ethnically Hebrew-Israelites still, we just have a different way and tenets for/of expressing our spirituality) but I keep running into dogma. In most cases this is exactly what we teach and preach against (adding to TNK). Why is it that we (ALL 'sects' of Hebrew-Israelites) in the ATL aren't sitting down and planning conferences (with viable topics) jointly? Why don't we have our own Hebrew-Israelite community resource center? Where is our impact and voice as relates to the Metro or our own little pieces of the Metro? Why can't we seem to come together and get the word out that we are here and doing something actively and positively in our communities?
We say (with our mouths) that as long as you believe in the TNK, YAH as one, and keeping all the mivots and holy days that we can work around our 'other' differences. I'm here to tell ya it ain't so
We are just as divided and divisive as all other so-called African-Americans and we...the nation...are supposed to be lights to the gentiles... In my opinion with all this in fighting and power struggle instead of collaborative efforts to make YAH supreme and known in the land...the world yet remains in darkness. Does this have something to do with our wanting to be free, but not being willing to take on the responsibilities of freedmen? Is this work to be left to yet another generation of Hebrew-Israelites (and if so, who will TEACH THEM?). I'm sadden by what I'm seeing and experiencing in the community. For many, again in my opinion, this has just become another form of religion vs a way of living (culture). Is there any hope? I need something extrordinary to believe in, about my people, at this stage in the game...what's really going on?
Where the REAL soldiers and warriors for YAH at? Why aren't we coming together and saying let's do this thang in our time...in this NOW MOMENT...for your true sovereign and HIM alone?
Or am I just missing the point? Somebody, PLEASE school me?
