I taught myself. But see, Hebrew was the 6th language I have studied. The first few languages I got instruction for either in high school or in the military. The way I taught myself hebrew was with a book that I got, can't remember where I got it and it came with a cassette so I could hear the pronounciation of the letters and words. I studied it every other day until I it started to stick. Once I finished that book I would get a moor advanced book. If you were to join a messianic jewish fellowship they would teach you for free, thats what Anav is doing May I ask where you learned it? When I lived in New Orleans I worked with a Messianic Jew.. perhaps I could ask her about that.. I found a website or two that I might try.. perhaps I will look on amazon.com and see what I can find too.. I was just concerned with whether or not i could learn it the way you just described.. but you have seemed to do well with it. here's one of the websites i found - it has books and online learning: www.ancient-hebrew.org/7_home.htmlI taught myself. I am against the letter V period in hebrew. I know that the rule in modern hebrew is that the letter Beth (B) gets a V sound when it's INSIDE of a word. for example Abraham would be Avraham, but when it STARTS a word it's B as in B'rashyt. Did the "V" exist in ancient hebrew, from my studies it was really the "B" Abram or Abrahm?

NO problem. I haven't had much time to work with that site.. really when it comes to learning languages I do better with in-class study. Perhaps I will research finding a local place to study.
