Seeing as how Arnold (The Govenator) has recently spoke of “Girlie Men”, I wanted to ask just what is a manly man?
I have quite a few male friends. Actually, I have more male friends than I do female friends, but that’s another topic They are pretty much mutual friends of Derrick and myself.
Anyhow—recently one was visiting and made a comment to Derrick, that I just had to address myself! That comment is now the basis of this post.
He was talking about an associate of his who is in a long term relationship. He says “Well, I bet he’ll tell you in a heartbeat that he really isn’t attracted to his woman. I think it’s just the only pussy he can get.”<br>My first thought was: “Any “man” who says this got way too much bitch in him sounding like a gossipy old lady at a quilting bee—I can’t stand a bitch ass running the mouth like a woman “man”.” Then my next thought was: hmm, now why would a man be in a “long term relationship” with someone he isn’t attracted to, and why would this “manly man” make the comment “I think it’s just the only pussy he can get.” To me, hearing that I sensed some deep rooted insecurities prompting this man to equate manhood with conquering pussy.
So now, what is more manly—a man going around irresponsibly conquering pussy, opening himself and numerous women up to diseases and/or unwanted pregnancies, or a man who is “man enough” to settle down with one woman, honoring a commitment, handling his financial, spiritual and emotional responsibilities in that household?
Those two balls and a dick do not make anyone a man. It will label them the male gender, but it surely does not make them a MAN.
A man takes full responsibilities for his actions. A man is a provider: financially, spiritually, emotionally and mentally.
Women, because of our natures are drawn to drama. Whether we want it or not—and of course most of us do not want it. It’s just that we tend to talk too much. We always want to get to the bottom of something. We analyze shit. We go over it and over it, then say “Aha—let me ask you something else!” We don’t just let things go, thus we get all caught up in drama. I judge a “man” by this. If his life is full of drama—I think, yep—he got too much bitch in him. A few “manly men” that I do know, who are dating more than one woman got that shit in tight control. The women are not trying to claw each other up. They respect that he is seeking out the perfect mate at this time of his life and await their prospective turns to show and prove.
These drama prone/too much bitch having men tend to have lives like Jerry Springer shows.
Just when you think that you’ve seen it all—you look over and sure enough there is an empty chair with yet some more drama waiting back stage.
A Manly Man doesn’t have all that drama because just when drama begins to creep up—he nips it all in the bud. He doesn’t drag the inevitable out. If he’s been doing wrong, and get’s busted—he “man’s up about it”. Takes full responsibility and deals with the situation. In the end—he is respected. May be hated, but at least respected.
