Hey big brother.. you mentioned something about Christian apologetics in another thread (and i didnt adress it there because of the video feed).. I have heard of it but never quite clear on what it is.. you see (and as you may already know), I have never felt as though i really fit in any particular church - mainly because i dont like to box myself in to one catagory -although i think it is important to fellowship with fellow Christians.. so i haven't gotten in to the whole young earth Christian vs Old Earth Christian, Creationalist vs TE, Apologetics vs ? .. but anywho, could you briefly tell me what Christian apologetics are? I could look this up on google or something, but for the benefit of everyone I would love for you to break it down for us.

Apologetics is the defense of the Christian beliefs against skeptics and religious scholars of other religions through formal debates or books. U have to know not only the deep theology of the Chhristian faith but also what your opponent knows. That means knowing the Qur'an, evolution, atheism, Mormonism, Masonry, etc. Todays leading apologists are John Ankerberg, Josh McDowell, Lee Strobel and yes Mr. Hanegraaff.
The thing is there are no black Christian apologists. Folks in our black churches dont question anything. Especially those "sanctified" types.

I am just learning what Bereans did in the Bible, and it seems a lot of people can take a lesson from them.. looking and comparing scripture with scripture for yourself rather than taking someone else's word for it.. based on your definition of apologetics, I would say yes I am interested in it. I have to buff up not only my knowlege on Christianity (hence my bible study), but also the others you mentioned. Thank you for clearing that up for us Apologetics is the defense of the Christian beliefs against skeptics and religious scholars of other religions through formal debates or books.
