my two cents.... i think the passion is a powerful tool to use to witness to all people... but those that died watching it, well, i was only aware of one, and she was an elderly woman who had a heart attack i believe... given the graphic violence of the film, it shouldn't be surprising that it would give someone a heart attack. i'm not sure we should be reading anymore into it than that!
for the record, i saw the movie. it was impacting, but i think "a walk with Christ to the Cross", a study done by dawson mccalister, had a far more profound impact on me. i read somewhere that mel actually studied dawson's material for the making of the movie, but i can't remember where i found it. somwhere online, but i haven't been able to find it since!

i liked the movie myself.. but what stunned me was when i read an interview of Mel and he actually said his wife was going to hell because she wasn't roman catholic.. but i wonder if he truly believes that- why did he marry her then?? why would you knowingly marry someone that you believe is going to hell?? Unless he married her BEFORE he became roman catholic. my two cents.... i think the passion is a powerful tool to use to witness to all people... but those that died watching it, well, i was only aware of one, and she was an elderly woman who had a heart attack i believe... given the graphic violence of the film, it shouldn't be surprising that it would give someone a heart attack. i'm not sure we should be reading anymore into it than that! for the record, i saw the movie. it was impacting, but i think "a walk with Christ to the Cross", a study done by dawson mccalister, had a far more profound impact on me. i read somewhere that mel actually studied dawson's material for the making of the movie, but i can't remember where i found it. somwhere online, but i haven't been able to find it since!

whats with all those demons and the devil being a woman? where mel get this stuff from? I seen only scraps of the gospels in this movie. but like I say if it keeps someone from robbing me or raping my daughter, then Im all for the movie if its truly changing somebodys life. its a good movie, but it didnt do much else for me than when I saw JESUS OF NAZARETH, LEFT BEHIND or A.D. among others.

I believe the devil in the movie was intended as an angrogenous person.. it may have looked feminine but the voice was masculine. whats with all those demons and the devil being a woman? where mel get this stuff from? I seen only scraps of the gospels in this movie. but like I say if it keeps someone from robbing me or raping my daughter, then Im all for the movie if its truly changing somebodys life. its a good movie, but it didnt do much else for me than when I saw JESUS OF NAZARETH, LEFT BEHIND or A.D. among others.
