there were many times of family meetings - for one- like in the example of brooklyn family meetings it was basiclly a bothers meetings were they discused quato - who had it - who didnt, which brothers was selling 'trinklets' to make quota and they shouldnt have. woman and children were not involved- though everyone could watch it on the tv braodcast in the houses and could call in with stuff. docs 'family' wasnt involved in that. there was newcommers question and answer class- but that was for the public and if someone kept 'traping' doc- that person was stopped. as for the congragations that would come up upstate new york and tamare they was asking quesitons about their stores, etc etc, the lates book, they wasnt asking him about how many kids, and wouldnt dare tell him they heard he is banging all the kids- even if that is what they heard. people who did ask questions doc liked- but if u asked too many questions - that would give the public a chance to see - the holes and see he isnt up on it- they would be looked at as the black devil, doubting thomas, etc etc, even put on the white ball list. i mean look at it- he 'created' and 'wrote' the nuwaubic book and COULDNT not speak the languag! and when people did address the issues - they were either kicked out, silenced, threatened, or made to look like a bunch of gossipers. like those brothers sajaad and them who up and left tamare one day about 5 of them when they found out do was having a feild day with everyone. and doc knew why they left - so he started the hadiths going that they left casue they wanted to be like him and got jealous so they are mad and starting rumors- so know one would belive anything they said.

Actually we did speak up then...how do you think my husband got labeled a demon and rouge member
I spoke up many a times about the bullshit going on in the office--don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about either I would go to York directly about it.
I questioned him in class about the prices of the books--asked him "How are you expecting us to make a living selling books? Yes there is money in book selling, look at Barnes & Nobles, but I'm talking about your prices. You want us to buy them for $4.00 and sell them for $5.00 and not have jobs outside of this?"
See, bookstore owners were told, not asked, told not to have jobs! I've owned 3 stores, bet I can dig up some pics and put them on here!
When my husband began to "question" the doctrine he got stepped to by York's security after class and told to never do that again. It even got to the point where York wouldn't even call on Derrick when his hand was raised, and I being bold would address that!
When we had had enough, we quitely left: December 31, 1998. I stayed in contact with the office, briefly, and with York via email telling him why we left. When my husband traveld to London, the man in charge of the London bookstore called Tamare and said "Derrick Hodge" is here, can he teach in our store. My husband didn't go there for that, he went to visit the Grand Lodge of England and view their charter records. He stopped by the store and the people there knew him and asked him to come back to teach. They had called the office, and when he went back the next day the owner told him he wasn't allowed to teach because the office said he was a "rouge" member and didn't ask before he went to London. LOL--stop there, my husband is a grown ass man and spent the several thousand from his own pockets for travel and accomidations--didn't need to ask another man for permission;)
Later on, a person who knew Derrick a bit more personally told Derrick to watch his back in London, that the brother's there were ordered to make sure he didn't leave London! I swear on my very life that is the truth--and a truth I carry with me when I look into the eyes of any Nuwaubian and when I read the posts of other Nuwaubians who put up pictures of wheelchairs when speaking to me

Well, I've said many times on here--I didn't leave because of York (directly) I even stayed in contact with him briefly after we left. (briefly about 2 years )
I left because I couldn't get down with his teachings anymore, the lies, etc. Via email and phone calls, one on one without the crowds he is a totally different person and respects those who do speak out. He has an image to protect--and often he isn't the one protecting it but his own followers do
He hates a punk. But he also hates being put on the spot. We learned that, so when people say "nobody ever stood up to him, debated him etc." not true--just because it wasn't on a stage with an audiance doesn't mean it didn't happen. My husband, myself, Ralph, GTO and others have debated him via the net. He wouldn't debate in person, we even tried to arrange one with him and Ralph Epperson author of the Unseen Hand--a very outspoken anti-Freemason, paranoid man. York's response to our request to have a formal public debate, even sell tickets to it was this "I'm a Magi, I have no need for such petty displays". I thought he was a punk easy to say shit on tapes and in books and on stage at your own home. He doesn't do the Hall of Knowledge thing anymore--my theory--he know's he can't fool the masses anymore with all this knowledge so easily ready at our fingertips. Hell, you just got to "google.com" anything he says and find out the source of it!
