They have kept totally quite as far as Kathy is concerned. She had pled guilty in the federal case since last year. She is to be sentenced for the Federal case on april 1st. and her plea for the state is expected also.

She took an "Alford Plea" last year on the Federal charges. An Alford Plea is when you're not admitting guilt, but realize there is more than enough evidence to convict you. On April 1st, she is to plead "guilty" to the State charges against her. She was initially scheduled to be tried right alongside of York, but for some reason she decided that wouldn't be best

how can she 'not be guilty' for the federal and be GUILTY for the state? if the federal has lass charges than the states - but they are the SAME charges? please explain? - how can this be? HOW CAN THIS BE!!! Ya El Truth, what Kathy did was not say that she is guilty on the Federal case, but she is declaring that there is enough evidence to convict her, IF she went to trial, so instead of doing that and getting more years, she opted for what will give her less time in jail. She has NOT pleaded as of YET on the State, but they do expect her to enter a guilty plea, this way again, she will have less time to do in jail. Don't forget that they do not have to find you guilty on ALL the charges in the State case. You are convicted on EACH one that they find you guilty on. So lets say like how york has almost 200 counts against him, they could just find him guilty on 2 or 3 counts and he WILL BE DOING TIME FOR EACH COUNT, whether they decide if he should serve it concurrently or separately.

i KNOW its a technical term- the point is- that the plea she entered is her saying she is nto guilty but aware there is enough evedice to prosecute her- the point i am making they are the SAME CHARGES for federal in the state- so how she is 'not guilty'(but knows there is enough evedince) in one court- but GUILTY in anouther court with the same PLUS MOORE charges?

Simple, her federal guilty plea was about her having 'direct knowledge' that these heinous crimes were being performed on children. She did not enter guilty plea to the charges themselves. That was enough for the Federal Prosecutioner to be satisfied, since concentrated effor was made mostly on building case against York. York and his followers were trying all types of intimidation against witness and officers of this case. So her alford plea did warrant for her to receive quite a lengthy probation, which if she f**ks up she goes back to Jail. Federal prosecution wasn't concern on wasting anymore money on prosecuting her. Now, The State alone has enormous amount of evidence to convict her for the rest of her life. The evidence presented in Federal was only a taste of what will be entered into State case. Hope that answers your question.

Ivey man convicted of child molestation attempts suicide By Sharon E. Crawford Telegraph Staff Writer IRWINTON - An Ivey man convicted of child molestation Wednesday attempted to kill himself after he was taken to the Wilkinson County Jail, sheriff's officials said. Wilkinson County Sheriff Richard Chatman said a jailer found 50-year-old Troy Gibbs bleeding inside his single-man cell Thursday morning. Gibbs was listed in stable condition at Oconee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville, the sheriff said. "He used some type of cutting device," Chatman said. "We don't know how he got it in. ... We're trying to figure that out now." Wednesday, Gibbs was sentenced to 50 years in prison after a jury convicted him on nine counts of child molestation, two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and two counts of solicitation of sodomy. Gibbs was arrested in 2001 for molesting a 12-year-old girl who lived in his neighborhood. "He had fondled her a couple of times," said Tom Davis, Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agent in charge. Upon his release from prison, Gibbs is banished from the eight counties in the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit, and he must register as a sex offender. Officials with the Ocmulgee County Judicial Circuit could not be reached for comment Thursday. www.macon.com/mld/macon/8334950.htm
