Yeah it wasn't like it was the best rebuttle for her information. I mean i left it open so she could come back with some artillery but oh well. Thats what I get for trying to bait her in. Prolly too much for her to read. Or like most nuwaubians who haven't read the bible cover to cover but think they know the book, she was prolly typing off of an Argument copied on some Ditto sheets. What is funny is it's BORING debating with those who are in Nuwaubu or who WERE in nuwaubu because they chatter chat chat off that same ole ish. It aint hard to memorize those arguments because you hear it from each and every one that come atchu with it. ESPECIALLY when they debate the bible. AS you could see, from the other night. We were told that certain things weren't in the bible and lo and behold. THERE THEY WERE! They will try to get caught up on the sematics. And you saw another strategy of theirs. Misinformation and twisting info. Naming and claiming thangs for their convenience. Able to see things one way for one thing, but undable to see it another way. In one instance a thing that is real is a parable, but in the other the parable is real to make out like Ishua was a false prophet. Yeah and it seemed that the "other's" point was that Jesus never actually said the word christ-and therefore did not admit to it.. but that was so obviously rediculous.. i dont remember the scripture. mathew or mark one.. and the hebrews asked jesus if he was the christ and he said- I AM.. pretty darn clear to me. if you ask me if i am courtney and i say "i am".. do you think i am admitting it? yes i am .. i dont have to speak my own name to admit who i am.. like i was telling you before. it seems that certain people come into this NOT wanting jesus to be christ- not coming with an open mind and heart.. they come in ready to prove the bible wrong or Jesus as a false christ rather than coming in and searching for the truth.. bias can cloud your vision when you are looking for the truth. Aren't you bias on the side of Christianity? Wouldn't you be clouded by your own beliefs if someone came to you saying "Judaism, Taoism, Buddhism, or Satanism" was the TRUTH? You're practicing your own form of the pot calling the kettle black. You want to say a non-Christian doesn't have the Truth--that you as a Christian does. Is yours the only Truth? Or, are there many Truths? If I don't accept the Bible as a reputable book, the Bible as it is today translated and mistranslated--then I don't have the Truth? |

mmm there you are wrong.. Im not a christian and i dont catagorize myself that way.. i never said that non christians dont have the truth because again.. I AINT CHRISTIAN.. i subscribe to the truth (which i have said on other threads comes from a combination of things from many different faiths/belief systems).. i think there is something to gain from all different religions. .i was simply saying that you are biased when you come in to DISPROVE something rather than just see what's what and go from there... that is how i look at things.. i take it from the perspective that i know nothing and this is all new to me.. and go from that point on.. i look at all the evidence from both sides (or all sides) and then make a decision... but i NEVER said that i was christian or that all christians have the truth and non-christians dont.. reread what i posted and see. you are twisting what i just said around.. like i said.. re-read what i previously posted and u will see. Sati or Derek, I will answer that for myself as I have said here numerous times and during the webcast. The hebrews don't have a monopoly on truth, it can be found on ever land in this globe. Truth is universal it can be discovered on wall street or in a hut. 2 socieities who have never met each other will discover the same truth maybe at different times but they will discover it on their own. And if one discovers it before the other will scientists of Ill-Will say that the younger stole it from the Older? Perhaps and Extra Terrestrial guided the younger civilization and told them all they needed to know, As it is with the Bible, their God gave them their truths, but those of ill-will say it was stolen from a civilization that is in OBVIOUS contradiction to the bible. As far as translated and mistranslated. Hmm, let me scratch my chin on that one what text today has been translated correctly? I would love to know that one. The text that is translated correctly doesn't come in different versions. WE have versions of the Quran, of the Vedas, of the Mahabharata, of the Bhagatghita, of the Coming forth by day, of the Papyrus Ani, of the Tao Te Ching, any text you can name has several version. Why? because each word in a language has a multitude of meanings. I think the Urantia is one of a kind though, at least in English. The newer "holy" text are pretty much untouched right now. So my point is, don't rely on someone elses translation if that is where one falters. Learn the language. No one knows what you and Derek or you and Sati believe so it makes it easy for you all to protect yourselfs, makes it easy for you all to attack but never have to defend. I am quite sure once that is revealed, the discrepencies in what that too will be made known. I love that people know who and what I am. It opens me to scrutiny. And if there is error I can correct it. Nothing was worst than thinking I had truth in christianity only to find there was errors evident. He has a different comprehension of the bible than I do. I really don't "know" the bible--I may quote something out of it to prove a point to a Christian--but I'm not a bible toting, fire and brimstone spewing individual. I don't use it to say "you're wrong, because the bible said to do this or that"--I may say "well, according to the Bible, upon which YOU stand--it says this" but I'm not saying it because I believe it--but because YOU said You do My husband on the other hand, being a Mason will use the King James Bible His fellow Masonic brethren on here should know why  I will leave that as that. He can address this further, if he so chooses, when he gets home. |
