ok, let me say this. i have no problem with most of the doctrine that was being taught because regardless if york was getting from other sources,most of it is sound. i finally found out why most of the book store nuwabians would look at me crazy because i was deep into the doctrine. they looked at me crazy because they were crazy for giving all their money to buy them books. If york was truly about the people, he wouldve printed the books and GAVE them to the stores to sell and take his cost out of what they sold. any store that cheated would be cheating the whole community and would be banned, but since it was all about the money, it dont mean anything. lastly, how were you guys able to afford buying all them books like that?

We were able to afford to buy the books because we used our own "personal" money--money made from employment/self-employment. We took our hard earned cash, opened a store, paid rent and deposit, bought books and when enough didn't sell to make "quota" we'd put in our own money--over and over. |

I'm not mad at york--i am disgusted by his behaviour. we were led to believe that the bookstores were simply a means to attract new members...not really as a means to become independantly wealthy. York of course gained wealth by them! we had very keen business sense, and we time and time again asked york "so again tell us how this is suppose to work--we pay $4 for a scroll and sell it for $5? where is the profit" his answer was "it cost pennies to make these books" we would say ohhhh...(duh) there is not profit in it for store owners, only York! We soon just ran the stores in a way for it to be self supportive and never looked for anything beyond that--realizing that in order for us to grow we need our own methods to become independantly wealthy. Anyone with any business sense at all knows you need multiple sources of income to reach your goals. |

Paying taxes is NOT getting pimped. I enjoy paying taxes because they pay for roads, public schools, ambulances and the like. They should make it optional to pay taxes. If you don't want to, then just make sure if you have a heart attack or an accident, you take that extra money you have and arrange your own transportation. But of course, that is foolish. You want your cake and you want to eat it too. I know people who owned bookstores and so-called "inner circle" folks who were definitely getting pimped. They recieved no benefit for their work. I guess I forget sometimes what those taxes do go to.. and even though they may seem to be a lot- they DO do some good.. although i still can't say that i do it joyously- it does serve a purpose and it is not optional. (or food stamps, or housing, or medical). I don't mind paying taxes either because my children are in public schools. Our taxes are essentially paying for our children to attend them. Actually, for some people taxes paid are not equal to the cost of that child attending. My friend is an attorney for the department of education here. He has informed me in a recent discussion on another topic aht it cost's around $4,200.00 per student in Columbus Public Schools! So, why don't I just hold off on my property taxes, which for my personal home is which is $2,124.62 yearly, and instead pay that $4,200.00 out per child (I have 3 in school)  nah..I'll take the taxes. |

FICA comes back to you in the form of your tax return, if you paid out enough to get a return. I'm hoping to personally acquire enough to not need to depend on Social Security--if it is even still around when I get that old! The downside to being self employed is paying for medical coverage. We pay $360.00 a month out of our own pockets for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. As far as insurance goes, they are one of the best! That covers our entire family, so that's pretty nice. My point though is our city has elected to charge for Ambulance service to insured individuals!!! If you are on medicaid neither you or medicaid get billed, but privately insured do--and what the insurance pays gets passed on to us in the form of higher premiums and co-pays. We can thank our DEMOCRATIC mayor for that one!!! |
