York found guilty of molestation, racketeering The Associated Press BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- A jury found cult leader Malachi York guilty on Friday of 10 of the 11 child molestation and racketeering counts against him. York, 58, was found innocent of one count of transporting minors across state lines for unlawful sexual activity. The jurors, who reached their initial verdict after seven hours of deliberation, went on to consider two remaining counts of forfeiture of property. York could face up to 80 years in prison when sentenced, prosecutors said. During the three-week trial, 14 girls and boys said York molested them from 1998 through 2002, when federal agents raided the compound. The government claimed York recruited older girls to groom younger girls for sex with him, and that he used the cult for his own financial gain. Members of the group weren't paid for their work -- instead, York managed the money and decided who to reward and punish, prosecutors said. If girls pleased York, they would get prizes like diamond rings from Wal-Mart or trips outside the compound to a restaurant, according to testimony. Kah,
I agree! But to those children who are psychologically scarred, we have to take them into consideration. Though justice prevailed, they still have to live with that memory. Who will provide the medical attention that they now need. Part of the healing has started today. Maybe some of the loot that they found York with can help with their medical bills..

Ralph, I think the states usually pick up the tab for stuff like that. There are fed' subsidized treatment prg. they can enter.
I agree, the first step to healing starts today.

Imma hafta get up in ya on this one bro. I see how you said history repeats itself? So John recorded history? Cool cuz I was under the impression that the bible was a bunch of bunk and it was all false and if Jesus never existed then there was never a trial and the crowds NEVER said "away with him" away with who? A man that aint existed? If Jesus didn't exist then john didn't exist and if john didn't exist he couldn't have recorded history of an incident that didn't happen. So technically this isn't a repeat of history.
This was totally using Nuwaubian Logic of course

Let us pray that for all those who have become brain-dead by being a member of York's closest circle, that those few young people who testified and their families, are not harmed in anyway by these broken hearted Nuwaubians. Nuwaubians such as Master 9 are a clear example of the hypocrisy that permeates throughout their organization. Of course you would say that you all knew all along that this was going to happen to York, because the truth is right there in your face. You all can't debate the verdict. But what is so contradictory about you all is that, if he had won, you would have said you knew this all along too. How pathetic! Stop running word game and comparing York to Jesus, for Jesus was able to feed the multitudes during their time of need whereas York couldn't muster up a mustard seed of good healthy eating for his devout members on the land. Yet most of all, Jesus came with a plan of action to unite one back with his father God Allah. York's plan was to unite everyone to his loins. Literally! May peace and blessings be upon those ones who have been hurt in many ways. Which means that our job of developing self to be of service to others is never ending. Only time can heal. Right now, there is alot of confusion. He will not be sentenced for approximately 60 days. There will be a pre-sentence investigation to decide if he get's 20 years or 30 years, or something in between. Regardless, the man is 58 years old, and 20 to 30 could very well be the rest of his life. When the land is completely seized, what will be left? There were only a few remaining living there to begin with. I am not saying you cannot have a nation without York, I am saying you don't have one. You lived this man's dream. Master9, think what you wish of me. Pick on my icon, it's sarcasm. Do you really think devil's are red with pointy horns? Did you already declare me a devil simply by the color of my skin? Are you thinking it because I do not think and feel as you do about this man and "nuwaubu". If yes, then you sir are a very biased individual and won't accomplish much more than your job at a school. While they were posting that there was a mistrial and that he was acquited and will be free soon, I got email moments after the verdict saying they found him guilty. UNNM administrators lie and carry on a charade to the people. Tell me, did you get to hear this alledge 2 hour interview with York, or did that just use that to get you all to buy tickets to a Shriner's ball? What did they do with the proceeds? What about the $1,000.00 bricks for sell? Where are they? I know of people who bought one. How about this, let's go back a bit---where you at the class back in 94 when York read off a list of 10 names and said their houses would go up by the end of the year? Did they ever get a house on the land? NO. Explain why, since 1993 until York's arrest, the only houses on the land were for women, children, a couple elders, a doctor and himself. The brothers lived in a barn. You mean to tell me, in 10 years and an accountable 6 million dollars, (we all know it was more) that there was no growth really? He was caught up in mysifying you all with a couple of plywood pyramids, a delapidated pylon, and over priced statues. But what the NATION needed were homes and jobs--paying jobs. He reaped the fruits of your labor. Explain how a man, from 1996 to 2001 can gross 6 million dollars, but after expenses, which by the way did not include wages only can account for $850,000? He calls himself a shrewd business man, but he is either and idiot or a liar! What is shrewd about only earning a profit of $850,000 off of 6 mil? C'mon Master9, don't be that blind--they found nearly half of $850,000 in cash in a briefcase! You admitted yourself that brothers on Tamare had asked for food. Did it never occur to you, that they worked way over the typical 8 hour day, building, guarding, caring for Tamare--they obviously did not work off of there--they still had to peddle and turn in that money--they should not have been hungry Master9!!! That hurts even me to know that. And, I don't know about you, but when we came thru that pylon we always had a bag of tuna, cabbage, beans for the brothers. When my husband worked there, he packed enough lunch for not only himself, but several brothers because we knew they were not eating properly. See, you think I am gloating--my heart has ached for nearly 6 years now about what I knew was continuing on. I am not saying the molestation--I'm talking about slavery. |
