Salute to All,

This is a 3 post tract, kinda lengthy. I hope it will provide some enlightenment this Sabbath if you have time to read it. For those who are interested in the topic of the Creator, the man and the Beard, I hope you enjoy this….for those who are not interested, I hope this sparks some interest……peace and blessing I send to you from the Zion Assembly. I look forward to any questions or comments.....

The Creator, the Man and the Beard……….

I am very passionate about the Truth. I love Truth. I yearn for Truth. I love to hear truth and I always endeavour to reason about the truth at any cost. The Messiah is the Truth, the Way and the Life. The Law is Truth. JAH’S Word is Truth.

The Saints of the Most High worship Him Spirit and Truth. These reasonings focus on the men but our sisters can definitely use this knowledge to teach the young men of Jah in the homes and in the assemblies.

This may be a debatable topic but I observe from the Scriptures that men should wear their beards and not shave them off. No shaving, designs, lining up or shaping on the skin where the Beard has its borders. I used to always shave and line my beard back in the day, but I have given up this paganistic practice years ago. I understand from the Scripture a man may trim the beard or cut it, but not shaving down to the skin or lining etc.

For those who don't have much facial hair growth, this article is also for you….there is no discrimination against those who don't naturally have a lot of facial hair verses those who do.

It is in my opinion that the Beard is the Handsomeness of the Man that was given unto him Naturally by the Creator.

Foremost, it must be recognized and acknowledged that it was THE CREATOR WHO FASHIONED ON THE MAN THE BEARD; it is not man's addition or design.

CREATION'S TESTIMONY

Throughout the Almighty's animal kingdom, one can plainly see that the Master Designer ascribed more abundant glory and outstanding appearance to the male animals.

To the lion He ascribed the majestic and full mane, to the goat and to the apes also. To the stag He added the magnificent towering antlers. To the peacock He displayed the showy spray of tail feathers and their marvelous colors. On and on we could go with examples throughout the span of creation - the mammals, the birds, the fish - JAH has ascribed a greater appearance to the male. Why?

The widely accepted secular "scientific" notion is that the male needed to attract a female, or to draw away a predator. This is not at all entirely true. There are too many cases in which this does not prove necessary.

There are many creatures that show no outside difference between males and females. Ravens and doves that show no outward sex differences have no trouble wooing a mate; and often it is the more splendid and colorful male bird that sits on the eggs. No, there is a higher purpose for this design that is consistent with the Creator's plan for man. This testimony of the creation of JAH as giving a more abundant honor and appearance to the male is clear.

WHERE THEN IS THE BEARD ON MOST OF TODAY'S MODERN MAN? Does a lion shave his mane? Shall the stag lob off his antlers, or the peacock pluck out his tail? Never may there be such humiliation to creation! These things would be most repulsive and pathetic to see!

Then pray tell, why does REDEEMED MAN forcibly remove the distinction JAH has placed uniquely on him in contrast to the woman?

As earlier said, there are many animals in nature show little to no physical difference between the sexes - e.g., crows, doves, dogs, many cats, etc. And in some examples the female is larger in size, when she carries large quantities of eggs (as in fish).

But I know of only one isolated example that JAH has given where the female is both larger and more splendid - the black widow spider! In this isolated case, the female is not only much larger, but substantially more attractive. While the female is large, shiny black, and has the distinct red or yellow hourglass marking on her abdomen, the male is dramatically smaller, dull gray, and spindly. The physical differences are obviously very important in regards to distinction to our Creator, as it is affirmed throughout creation, and SHOULD BE AFFIRMED AND UPHELD BY MEN TODAY.

MAN'S VAIN IMAGE OF MAN

In fact, conversely, today in the world, our modern MAN'S CREATION OR IMAGE OF MAN Is - BEARDLESS.

Man himself must daily RESIST the creation of JAH in order to become the image of his own vain creation. JAH’S creation of man with facial hair DISTINCTLY SETS HIM APART from both WOMAN AND CHILD.

Man is a man, not a woman. Man is a man, not a boy. JAH has set forth a clear, SUBSTANTIVE, AND CAUSATIVE DIFFERENCE; and a man should, according to His holy design, PRESERVE THAT DIFFERENCE: for his wife's sake, for the sake of his children, for the sake of JAH’S kingdom and His creation, and FOR THE SAKE OF TRUTH.

Therefore, we must ask the question - WHY DID JAH GIVE MAN A BEARD?


Was it an accident or the addition of a misdirected useless annoyance, or just the addition of a little shrubbery around the old house for landscaping? Obviously not! JAH has created all things with a HOLY purpose.

In answer to this question - first, despite what society teaches today (and frankly if religious groups today holds to a popular scholastic "truth" or persuasion, JAH’S TRUTH IS GENERALLY 180 DEGREES OPPOSITE), there is a JAH-intended difference between man and woman.

JAH PURPOSED THAT THIS DIFFERENCE BE DISTINCT AND OBVIOUS. He instructed that….

· " The woman SHALL NOT WEAR THAT WHICH PERTAINETH UNTO A MAN, NEITHER SHALL A MAN PUT ON A WOMAN'S GARMENT: for all that do so are abomination unto the Almighty thy Creator. " (Deuteronomy 22:5).

JAH has created distinct physical, stamina, and structural differences between men and women.

In 1 Corinthians 6:9 and 10 Scripture warns –<br>
· " Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of Jah? Be not deceived: neither FORNICATORS, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, NOR EFFEMINATE, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of Jah."

As we know, the word "EFFEMINATE" means – "woman like in appearance, traits or characteristics".

When the beard is removed from the man it gives the man a more feminine appearance. To be sure, many women today shrug their noses at the idea of their spouse wearing a full beard. Take a look at today's so called male models, TV and movie stars and musicians, the majority are beardless, (not all but the majority).

The Creator has set forth a difference between the man and a woman by the length of the facial hair - the beard. If we respect the differences of clothing then why do we not also respect the equally important natural difference of the beard?

IN THE IMAGE OF THE ALMIGHTY CREATOR

Let us examine this matter of the man being made in the IMAGE OF JAH. Genesis 1:26 and 27 state - "Then Jah said, 'Let US make man in OUR image, after to OUR likeness....' And Jah created man in His Own image, IN THE IMAGE OF JAH CREATED HE HIM; male and female He created them."

It should be noted here that "the man" was made "in JAH’S image," and likeness, in the IMAGE AND LIKENESS of Jah.

We humans have JAH’S likeness in regards to emotions, characteristics and lower level thoughts…and we have His Ben's image, of what we call a body.

Now since we know the Messiah has a beard (Isaiah 50:6), and He is "the image of the invisible Jah" (Colossians 1:15, 2 Corinthians 4:4), it can be equally stated that Jah, even the ABBAH, has a beard. Yes, "Jah is Spirit," and His Ben is the Image. Speaking of the Abbah, the Scripture also talks about His back, His hands, His feet, and His eyes. Can He not also have a beard? Indeed so, FOR JAH THE SON HAS A BEARD!

Likewise, it is simple to reason that if the man is made in the image of Jah, conversely Jah has a beard.

I always noticed growing up that the heathenistic gentiles painted throughout history an image of their erroneous and deceptive concept of what they call god….and they represent the Creator as a bearded Gentile with white hair…this is not a point but just an observation, what they the paganistic gentiles erroneously do has no real bearing….again just an observation.

Since Jah has a beard, He shared His image with the man and created Him to likewise wear it. Since Jah shared His image with the man, for this cause alone a man seeking to glorify Jah should be compelled to wear what Jah has personally shared with Him.

Gillette and Schick are cheap and shameful escapes from the image Jah bears and uniquely shared with the man.

Jah created "the man" in "His own image, in the image of Jah He created he him, ...." The word "him" is VERY SIGNIFICANTLY SINGULAR, not plural - Jah created Adam, a man, in His image.

Then afterwards, the Scriptures go on to say - "male and female He created them." It does not say - "Jah created male and female in His own image."

When He made the man, the woman (meaning - "TAKEN OUT OF MAN," Genesis 2:23) was in the side of the man. "Male and female He created them," but not until after He first made the man, which was conformed to His own fatherly male image.

This point may raise other discussions (to be dealt with another time) but this aspect is an important observation. Of the man the Scripture says "HE IS THE IMAGE AND GLORY OF JAH: BUT THE WOMAN IS THE GLORY OF THE MAN. " (1 Corinthians 11:7).

JAH created the man as His "image and glory," and He consistently confirms this position throughout all of His creation by the greater appearance He has given to the males in nature. This fact is certainly not disrespectful to females in any way shape or form; this is difference not by accident but by divine testimony and design.

Men are not completely "in the image of Jah" when THEY SHAVE THEIR BEARDS. In today's world they become a confusing, distorted mixture - partly in the image of Jah who made them, and partly in the image of the WOMAN WHO CAME OUT OF THE MAN. Man is no longer "in JAH’S own image," but now in the distorted, self-designed "vain image," an image that man fashions of his own creating.

Men should quit sending mixed signals! Jah distinctly forbids it in dress and purposely-shaved baldness. The message should be absolute, not persuaded by the fashions or expectations of this world, but the men should wear the beard Jah has given them from His fatherly image.

BOYHOOD AND MANHOOD

Another reason JAH gave man a beard is to distinguish him from adolescence. Today, there is a fading divergence between the adolescent and THE MARKED WISDOM OF AN ADULT.

The older often try to dress like the younger. The younger try to possess the authority of the older. But JAH intended to distinguish the young man as having not yet achieved adulthood by the absence of the beard.

The beard through history was a mark of respect, wisdom, and experience. It set apart men as men, and boys as boys! This distinction is healthy and proper, and is more readily insured when there is the physical distinction of the JAH-ordained beard.

Boys can dress like men, they can act like men, but there is still that "mark" that they are bare boys - they cannot grow that identifying beard. Society would be far better off if this visible standard of SEX-DISTINCTION AND MATURITY-DISTINCTION WAS NOT CONFUSINGLY REMOVED.

It is a shame when parents try to look like their children - to dress like them, talk like them, and act like them.

· Shaul of Tarsus said - "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: BUT WHEN I BECAME A MAN, I PUT AWAY CHILDISH THINGS. " (1 Corinthians 13:11).


A boy is smooth-skinned the first thirteen to fifteen or so years of his life. When he does become a man, he needs to put away smooth soft-skinned boyish ways and ideas.

What does the boy have to look forward to, to admire, when MEN STUNT THEIR MATURING PROCESS, NOT PUTTING THEIR OWN CHILDISH APPEARANCE ASIDE?

We must grow up in JAH’S design that a man grows a beard. The BEARD IS A SIGN OR TESTIMONY OF MATURITY, though IT CERTAINLY DOES NOT GUARANTEE MATURITY.

Maturity, like the beard, does not come all at once; it takes time. When we encourage our young men to shave we remove from our young men that outward sign or reminder of patient waiting for maturity. Then we confuse that whole process to WHERE MATURITY BECOMES MEANINGLESS.



The testimony that society and many religious groups give today is the abandonment of maturity. UNFORTUNATELY, BEARDLESSNESS IN OUR SOCIETY IS TESTIMONY TO A LACK OF TRUE MATURITY.

Will a beard make a man? Not necessarily. But, a beard unmistakably tells others he is a man. A sign outside a building lets one know what kind of business is inside; it does not necessarily reveal the character or quality of the business.

The world fails to see JAH’S simple but vital way of preserving that orderly marked transition from childhood to adulthood.

THE JUDGEMENT OF THE ALMIGHTY

Third, we will reason that - REMOVING THE BEARD IS A CALL FOR THE MOST HIGH'S JUDGMENT.

To be able to consider this matter of the judgment of JAH via the removal of the beard, we will simply mention this highly important aspect of the beard and consider it more fully.

In JAH’S relationship with man, THE REMOVAL OF THE BEARD WAS A SIGN OF HUMILIATION, JUDGMENT, AFFLICTION, AND MOURNING.

When JAH was preparing to bring judgment on Jahrusalem, He had the prophet Ezekiel to SHAVE HIS HEAD AND BEARD, and uses the clippings TO INDICATE THE TYPES OF JUDGMENT AND DESTINY HE WOULD INFLICT UPON THEM…<br>
· Ezekiel 5:1-12 - And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, TAKE THEE A BARBER'S RAZOR, and cause IT TO PASS UPON THINE HEAD AND UPON THY BEARD: then take thee balances to weigh, AND DIVIDE THE HAIR. Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them. Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts. Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel. Thus saith the Rabboni JAH; This is Jahrusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her. And SHE HATH CHANGED MY JUDGMENTS INTO WICKEDNESS MORE THAN THE NATIONS, AND MY STATUTES MORE THAN THE COUNTRIES THAT ARE ROUND ABOUT HER: FOR THEY HAVE REFUSED MY JUDGMENTS AND MY STATUTES, THEY HAVE NOT WALKED IN THEM.

In Isaiah 7:20, the prophet Isaiah foretold of the devastation and judgment JAH would bring on the land of Judah….

· "In the same day shall the Almighty SHAVE WITH A RAZOR that is hired, namely, by them beyond the river, by the king of Assyria, the head, and THE HAIR OF THE FEET: and it shall also CONSUME THE BEARD."

Did you notice that JAH’S JUDGMENT CAME WITH A RAZOR?!



Furthermore, when it was prophesied that the Moabites would be devastated and ruined, Isaiah characterized their destruction as a time when Jah will have "every beard cut off"…<br>
· "He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: ON ALL THEIR HEADS SHALL BE BALDNESS, AND EVERY BEARD CUT OFF., In their streets THEY SHALL GIRD THEMSELVES WITH SACKCLOTH: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, EVERY ONE SHALL HOWL, WEEPING ABUNDANTLY. (Isaiah 15:2-3).

Jeremiah wailed for the Moabites….

· "For every head shall be bald, and EVERY BEARD CLIPPED: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth. " (Jeremiah 48:36-37).

In Isaiah's prophecies concerning the humiliation and SUFFERINGS of the Messijah, we see further the graphic relationship between the REMOVAL OF THE BEARD AND JAH’S HUMILIATING JUDGMENT…..

· "I gave my back to the smiters, and MY CHEEKS TO THEM THAT PLUCKED OFF THE HAIR: I hid not my face from shame and spitting..." (Isaiah 50:6).

In Jeremiah 41:4 and 5 we see eighty men traveling to the destroyed temple, sorely grieving and weeping for its destruction and the imposition of their people to Babylon. They demonstrated their grief and humiliation by their beards "shaved off and their clothes torn and their bodies gashed."

In 2 Samuel l0:1-5 we further see a very interesting account concerning the great humiliation associated with the removal of even a portion of the beard. King David had sent some of his servants to the new Ammonite king to show kindness at the death of the king's father.

In an act of reproach, the new king "took David's servants, and SHAVED OFF THE ONE HALF OF THEIR BEARDS, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.."


This humiliating act "greatly ashamed" the men, and undoubtedly David. So greatly offensive was it that David sent out messengers, instructing his disfigured servants -"Tarry at Jericho UNTIL YOUR BEARDS BE GROWN, and then return."

This defacing act of insult caused the Ammonites "to stink before David," and led to a war that ended in the thorough defeat of the Ammonites and the Syrians.

It is a great sorrow and reproachable humiliation when men forsake the Scriptural shame associated with defacing their appearance. And literally, men are, by their own design, defacing themselves - taking off the face JAH has given them. If only men could see JAH’S high perspective of beards.

But then again, for a harlotrous people, it is only appropriate that men be defaced. For men have, in many ways, turned away from JAH and THEN ATTEMPTED TO JUSTIFY THE HUMILIATION OF THEIR SORROWFUL APPEARANCE.

It will equally be noted THAT ALL CREATION, INCLUDING THE BEARD, REFLECTS THE DIVINE ORDER, THE LAWS, AND THE WAYS OF JAH.

Departing from this order is to forsake His ways and thus His greatest blessings. This is a most important matter AND IS MOST REVEALING.

SCRIPTURE'S SPECIFIC TESTIMONY

Let us now share what the Scriptures specifically say about the beard. First, significantly, JAH instructed His people to not shave their beards.

In Leviticus 19:27 we read –

· "Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou MAR the corners of thy beard. "


To "mar" means - to ruin, to cast off, corrupt, destroy, lose, perish, spoil, or waste.

JAH instructed His people to not "CAST OFF" the SIDES OF THEIR BEARDS. A beard without sides is not a beard at all; it is a goatee, which is symbolic of the Adversary. Have you noticed that the world portrays Satan as a Gentile with Goat Horns and a Goatee, and the Most High is portrayed as a Ram and His Ben as a Lamb……this is just an observation.

JAH directs His men to keep their full beards. And this is exactly what we see from His people throughout the Scriptures. Men from Adam to Jahshuwah wore the beard.

The sons of Aaron, the priests, were instructed to not shave their beard…..

· " They shall not make BALDNESS UPON THEIR HEAD, NEITHER SHALL THEY SHAVE OFF THE CORNER OF THEIR BEARD, nor make any cuttings in their flesh. THEY SHALL BE HOLY UNTO THEIR JAH, and not profane the name of their Jah: for the offerings of the ALMIGHY made by fire, and the bread of their Jah, they do offer: THEREFORE THEY SHALL BE HOLY." (Leviticus 21:5-6).

Remember we are "a royal priesthood, for JAH…<br>
· 1 Peter 2:9 - But ye are a chosen generation, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, an holy nation, a PECULIAR PEOPLE; that ye should SHEW FORTH THE PRAISES OF HIM who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

We believing SPIRITUAL ISRAELITES should of all people not shave off the edges of our beards. The beard is a scriptural mark of an obedient relationship to JAH. Men should have a JAH-designed, JAH-instructed, bearded relationship with their Heavenly Father! He declares this in His Word.

There are those who try to justify these modern times as an excuse to mar the corners of the Jah given beard…It would be better that they would base their personal beliefs on the Scriptures and not on a brief point in time.

It is shortsighted and an insult to the Scriptures and to the design of our Creator, if we base our beliefs on the whimsical nature, the attitudes, or even the accepted styles of man. Men should base their actions, including their appearance, on JAH’S instructions and His established order.

JAH the ABBAH has a beard! Is He rebellious? The Son who is JAH IN THE FLESH the VERY IMAGE AND GLORY OF THE FATHER, WORE A BEARD (Isaiah 50:6).

We should have a far greater concern for our testimony of unhindered and unadulterated FAITH to JAH, rather than conforming to what men think.

Some well intentioned people who do not want to appear rebellious, are ACTUALLY REBELLING AGAINST THE WILL OF JAH each day as they remove the beard that He has given them to wear.

Men who call upon the name of the Most High should accept JAH’S design for a man and obediently wear the beard He has created for them to wear, DESPITE WHAT SOCIETY OR FALSE-TEACHERS AND LEADERS PRESENT. In the Scriptures, as well as the major part of the history of man, it was a shame to be shaven!

Let us not look at "truth" in shortsighted reaction as though it rested at the end of our nose; but let us honestly, and with a willingness to examine the UNCHANGING STANDARD OF THE SCRIPTURES, see the purpose and design JAH has in the beard.

MEN WHO CAN'T GROW BEARDS

IF A MAN IS NOT CAPABLE OF EVEN GROWING A BEARD, HE IS NO LESS A MAN. He too should equally accept the distinctive way JAH has made him (just as the man who can grow a beard should accept the way he is made).

Again, what has JAH shown in nature but diversity and acceptance? The raven and the dove do not lament that they have not a showy appearance over their mates. LIKEWISE, THERE ARE WHOLE GROUPS OF PEOPLE WHO CANNOT GROW BEARDS. But that is all right. The point is - MEN SHOULD ACCEPT JAH’S INDIVIDUAL DESIGN FOR THEM.

JAH’S prevailing testimony, both in nature and in men, is that the man is to have a striking appearance, for which JAH has included the beard.

Quite honestly in my opinion, there is something to be said for the man who grows a scraggly, thin, or patchy beard and seeks to honor JAH’S unique and complete creation of him, when other men who can grow a robust beard shamefully remove it daily.

MEN WHO HAVE "LESSER" BEARDS SHOULD WEAR THEM PROUDLY. The sparrow does not lament that he does not have the splendor of a peacock. The quail does not grieve that his colors do not match that of the pheasant. The tiger does not sulk that he does not possess the mane of the lion.

We should accept the beard JAH has given us, and WEAR IT, GROOM IT, LET IT BE DISTINCTIVE; NOT FOR WHAT OTHERS HAVE, BUT FOR WHAT EACH OF US HAVE BEEN GIVEN BY JAH - small or great, patchy or full. We should acceptingly wear it, for it is JAH’S own distinctive design for each of us individually.

Let the man wear the beard JAH has set it upon your jaw! Preserve it. Uphold it. Let JAH’S distinctive mark upon you be in harmony with His glory, His creation, and His purpose.

CONCLUSION

We know JAH did not create anything without a purpose. He did not put hair on the man's face just because it was a cute, unfulfilling idea, or just to needlessly cover a face. JAH gave us hands for a purpose. He gave us feet for a purpose. He gave us eyes, ears, taste, feel, everything for a purpose. He does not make mistakes or add to His creation needlessly. When JAH said – "Let us make ...," He included a beard on a man. So - "Let there be" a beard on JAH’S created man!

JAH, as previously said, has numerous purposes for the beard - to distinguish the sexes, to distinguish from adolescence, to place His image upon the man, and even far more than we'll know. But when men remove this distinguishing mark, they confuse creation and JAH’S ORDER IN HEADSHIP and end up on a path slipping away from His righteous ways.

I am humored BY MEN'S WORLDLIAN PERCEPTION that today's trend of a boy, or even a man, wearing an earring is an unacceptable departure from masculinity and a move toward femininity. Yet those very men who believe these remarks and wouldn't wear an earring, are often clean shaven like the woman.

Actually, men have been desensitized to the more extreme, yet now accepted, marked change in appearance through the vain removal of the man's beard. There are times past that it would have been an unthinkable shame for a man to shave his beard.

In fact, the removal of a man's beard was so offensive that some crimes were punishable by the humiliating removal thereof. Remember, King David would not even allow his partially shaven servants to return until their beards returned (2 Samuel l0:1-5).

Where has the beardless stigma gone? It was removed by Satan and fallen worldly man as men accepted a vain feminine look. This slow changing acceptance of beardlessness causes much confusion, and Babylon is another word for confusion.

Humans tend to accept and not react to unhealthy and ultimately destructive wicked changes WHEN MODIFIED IN SMALL INCREMENTS. But let us return to the truth of our original creation.

SHAVING A MAN'S BEARD OFF IS A FAR GREATER AND MORE DESTRUCTIVE DEPARTURE FROM MASCULINITY THAN ANY EARRING IN ONE'S EAR (one ear is enough, otherwise we get into the female aspect of both ears pierced, this is just an opinion on the two earring thing).

There are no specific scriptures DENOUNCING wearing an earring (I repeat "denouncing"), but there are SPECIFIC SCRIPTURAL DENOUNCEMENTS AGAINST SHAVING THE BEARD (Leviticus 19:27, 21:5-6)!

The growing of a beard by a man or men will not bring "instant" results either in himself or in the world. BUT IT IS AN IMPORTANT FORMATIVE, HARMONIOUS TRUTH THAT SHOULD BE FOLLOWED.



The mind of JAH is expressed in - first wisdom, then understanding, and then knowledge. Man perverts this by reversing it and saying - first knowledge, which brings understanding, and then comes wisdom. But no -first pursue wisdom!

KNOWLEDGE WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING AND WISDOM IS DANGEROUS AND ERRONEOUS.

In this righteous process, growing the beard that JAH planted is WISDOM. One cannot fully understand nor express some truths apart from this harmony with JAH’S plan for the man. With this initial wisdom will come understanding - understanding about his role as a man, as a father, and as a husband; understanding his headship and his great responsibilities therewith; and understanding his relationship with his Heavenly Father, who lovingly and purposefully shared His image with him.

I know many will say they are good fathers, husbands etc. and still don't wear their beard…..but it isn't me anyone will be contending with….It is the Word of the Almighty Creator!

And to understanding will come knowledge - a true confirmed knowing of his role in all three of these areas, and more. The beard is a marked reminder of his important commitment and progress in the ways of his Creator. It is a beginning or a renewed commitment to pursuing the mind and will of Jah.

JAH planted the beard. We need to quit resisting it, foolishly establishing our opinions wiser than the Words of our Creator, and let it bear fruit. There are indeed fruits of obedience; and there are precious and important fruits from growing the beard that JAH has given the man. Let a man look to JAH to bear these fruits. Let the man rejoice that he has come into harmony with JAH’S will and design. JAH will bear the fruit if we look wholly to Him.

I would have to disagree with this somewhat. I dont disagree with the fact that men should let their beards grow, but what I disagree with is the shape up thingy. Or altering of the facial hair line and keeping the hair trimmed. My main argument is that animals in nature do modify themselves, clean and unclean animals alike. For example, there are animals that shed their hair, skin, and antelers (sp) there are animals that sharpen their horns, and beaks on rocks or unsharpen them just the same. There are animals.

I will also show how that scripture that speaks about a man marring the edges of his beard and rounding the corners of his head is not really talking about the hair of a man's head. Stay tuned

Yo bros., after reading this you took me back to the days of 1 west. They were strict about rounding the corners of the head. Things like shape ups, or ceasars or fades were all considered *rounding* or maring the corners (borders) of the hairlines.

Them kats were so serious about it, I could remember some of them saying how when time would come that they began to rise up against the captors (in this case, U.S.A), barbers were the first on the hit list. LOL!!.

1dell, you know if you study Qabala it goes into the alchemy reasoning behind the forbidding of hair cutting. It has to do with the ADAM QADMON archtype and how the corners of the hair rep. specific levels of berehiyth. Also, you can parallel that with the Mosaic law of not reaping the corners of thy harvest.

ADAM QADMON was considered the eldest of all the elders. Hence he was also known as the GRAND OLD MAN (ancient of days). One of the manifold reasons behind Adam Qadmon representing the science behind the BEARD and HAIR is because the term for beard in hebrew is Zaqan. This word is akin to the hebrew word ancient ; Zoqan. It is because of this understanding the hebrew males were adjured to grow their beard and hair. They are in the image of the great father Adam.


The science of 9 aether hair or the general idea of aether in hair has some validity when using the qabalistic knowledge to put it in proper perspective. If I have some time I will consult my dusty kodesh Separ Zohar and get some more info. on the hairs of Adam Qadmon.

I am Jahshawn, I posted "Jah the man and the beard" originally on the true calendar forum.....thanks for bringing this post to others, it is appreciated.....

In regards to the marring the corners. We understand it as ruining or destroying the borders of your beard. What I mean is that 'the scrapping or shaving off' down to the skin of the beard is not permitted. You can have low beards and whether the length of your beard is rounded is not the case. We are not saying beards must be pointy or rounded etc. But the shaving off of it and illiminating the borders or natural hair line is against the law.

As well as the 'fade' hair cuts as well. The corners or borders of your head is the edges where the baby hair grows, so to speak. So the the corners/borders should not be 'lined'....or scraped bald. Many have different interpretations on the 'corners' and each will have to determine to themselves how they will honour this commmand to have beards.

Summary:

No lining the borders/corners of the beard on the face. Not the edges of the length of the beard but the edges or borders that are upon the face/neck head area.

No scraping or making bald of the beard down to the skin....

Length is not an issue, you can where a long robust beard or a short one.....just don't line or illiminate the facial and neck areas.

No fades down to the skin, and no lining the natural hair line or scraping of the edges around your head: the back of the neck, the sides of the head and the top front of your head......

remember that marring is removing the borders of the hair lines which includes the beard......
